Everything you need to go from sign-up to a self-driving battery: what to have ready, the six setup steps, and what day-to-day life with SolanIQ looks like.
Before you start
- An ESY Sunhome battery that's set up in the ESY mobile app (your ESY app login is how SolanIQ connects).
- An Amber Electric account or a GloBird ZeroHero plan — see how SolanIQ works on Amber and GloBird.
- Your solar system details (system size in kW, panel count, inverter model) — a photo of the install paperwork usually has everything.
Setting up, step by step
Step 1
Create your account
Go to app.solaniq.ai/register and set an email and password. Add the promo code FREETRIAL on this first step to get your first 30 days free.
Step 2
Set your location
Search for your address (or tap “use my location”). SolanIQ works out your NEM region automatically — it needs your location for solar forecasts and the right market region.
Step 3
Connect your battery
Choose ESY Sunhome and enter the same username and password you use in the ESY mobile app. SolanIQ discovers your device automatically — no serial numbers to find. Then enter your battery capacity and your solar system details (size, panels, inverter).
Step 4
Choose your electricity plan
Amber Electric: generate an API token at app.amber.com.au/developers (starts with psk_), paste it in, hit Validate and pick your site. GloBird ZeroHero: just pick your distributor tariff from the list — the free midday and boosted 6–9pm windows are applied automatically. No retailer account yet? You can also start on plain AEMO wholesale prices for your region.
Step 5
Payment and review
Check the summary, confirm, and complete checkout (payments are handled securely by Stripe). With FREETRIAL applied you won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime from your account settings.
Step 6
Let it run
That's it — the optimiser takes over immediately, re-planning around the clock. There's nothing to schedule and no buttons to press day-to-day.
Day to day
The dashboard
app.solaniq.ai shows your live solar, battery and grid power flows, the battery’s state of charge, current prices and the optimiser’s plan for the hours ahead — so you can always see what it’s doing and why.
The mobile app
The SolanIQ app for iOS and Android puts the same live view in your pocket and sends push notifications. Sign in with your SolanIQ account.
Changing settings
Battery details, retailer credentials and tariff selection can all be updated later in your site settings — no need to re-register if you switch plans or rotate an API key.
Billing
Your subscription renews monthly and is managed from account settings, where you can update payment details or cancel anytime.
